Shape national education research and resources
Invitation to school and early childhood educators, teachers and leaders
The Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) is looking for educators, teachers and leaders from Australian schools and early childhood services to prioritise and shape its research and resources.
More than 280 educators, teachers and leaders have already registered to add their voices and expertise to the work being done by AERO across Australia.
‘Understanding and responding to the needs of the Australian education sector is essential to achieving AERO’s vision and objectives’
- Dr Jenny Donovan, AERO’s inaugural CEO.
AERO was incorporated in 2021, with the vision to achieve excellence and equity in educational outcomes for all young Australians − by generating high-quality evidence and supporting its application in education practice and policy.
‘Our new panel of educators, teachers and leaders (PETL) will contribute to this vital work at a national level, by helping to guide AERO’s research and educational resources. Recruitment of PETL members is ongoing. Their feedback will help to ensure that AERO's research and resources are relevant and implementable for early childhood services and schools.’
- Literacy and numeracy
- Wellbeing of children and young people
- Continuity of learning and development across ECEC and schools
- Improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people
- Addressing educational disadvantage
- Supporting continuous school improvement
- Examining evidence use in ECEC and schools.
PETL activities will include consulting with AERO’s research teams, providing pre-publication feedback on resources, and participating in workshops and focus groups. PETL members can opt for a level of commitment that complements their work responsibilities. AERO will compensate schools and early childhood services for the time given by PETL members, including for pre-reading and other required preparation. PETL contribution will be formally acknowledged with a certificate of participation.
PETL members will receive regular communications about AERO’s contributions to policy and practice and opportunities for learning, collaborating and networking with other professionals in research and education.
