About the submission

The draft Teacher Workforce Action Plan (TWAP) outlines important initiatives for supporting recruitment and retention of teachers, as well as actions for improving teaching quality. AERO’s submission identifies actions in TWAP that correspond with the National Children’s Education and Care Workforce Strategy and highlights the need for coordinated implementation. AERO's submission supports making better use of professional standards and accreditation processes, using multi-agency data to investigate teacher retention and attrition, attracting and retaining more First Nations teachers and improving access to cultural competency resources, and using evidence to design and review pilots.
